Is it me or do movie trailers not explain what the movie is about anymore?
2 good examples are the movies Marley & Me and Seven Pounds. Everytime I see the trailers online or on TV, I still walk away not knowing what the movies are about. These aren't the only movies either, there's others that just show scenes and some commentary but don't actually give the movie's synopsis.

- they just put in the best scenes so you would go and watch the movie
- the goal of the trailer is to get you to see the movie, not necessarily to summarize it. Also, the trailer is produced before the movie is finished, so some details may not have been worked out yet (and the trailer may sometimes have footage that winds up being cut from the final version of the film.)
- I agree sometimes its very rare to see a trailer explains stuff. But then again now adays most movies are either sequels or devrived from a tv show or a book so maybe they think they dont really need to know stuff they already know but ya i still dont know what seven pounds is lol
- lol.. yea its gettin that way *explosion* "Run" -voted best movie of the year by whoever *sad scene with some crying* "june 4th" "uhh... what?"
- Or you could get the entire movie from the trailer. As in the Benjermin Button trailer. I'd rather have a trailer that gives me a little taste of what I will see when I pay for the movie. If I know the whole story already from the free trailer, why would I pay $12 to see the movie? edit - Lakeview Terrace was another movie I skipped because I got the entire story from the trailer. Like did they really have to reveal the crazy neighbor was a cop? They even show the climactic scene when the forest fires come and obviously the two main characters have their final battle. I'll catch it on TV one day and see if I was right.
