Is the value my 1980ish Transformer toys likely to increase much after the upcoming movie is released?
I have quite a few - some are even boxed
Public Comments
- i would think so because people after the movie might think its awsome
- Yes, demand will drive up the price. Around the time the movie is released. People get nostalgic.
- Hold on to them...DEFINITELY!! When I was a kid I had ALL the Star Wars figures (Early 80's) and gave them away to The Salvation Army for kids that didn't have any toys. It brought a smile to their face, but now the price for these figurines is thru the roof. I would estimate at least $50k for the collection I had.
- Interest in the franchaise will definitely increase after the movie which may drive demand for these old toys up, but I doubt they will go up by MUCH. Especially since there are reissues freely available on the net. That said, stuff that is still boxed is always worth a small fortune, regardless of the movie.
- The simple answer to your question is "yes, absolutely". To expnad on a small fortune you may be sitting on, get in touch with Brianstoys.com Have the items appraised before the film comes out and again after the film comes out, then decide rather or not you plan to sale
- I would say no. the value of the toy will go up as the hype for the movie increases which is before it's release. After everybody has seen it, interest will die down and you won't get as much for them if you were planning on selling them.
