What happens if a movie gets horrible reviews?

ive heard that if it gets bad reviews then maybe another film of the same series cant be made. Is this true? Can some one explain what exactly happens if a movie gets bad reviews? and btw, i HATE twilight. i could care less if it gets bad reviews. and Carrie Underwood Rocks, YOU ROCK! i cant wait for Harry Potter aswell! twilight can kiss my ass. And Jules... your answer is good. but i love titanic, its my favorite movie. LOL! :P

You Twilight fans are a paranoid lot.
It's gonna be made no matter what reviews they get. As long as it makes money, which I'm sure it will.. Have you heard of Disaster movie and Epic Movie?
if it gets bad review, there probably wont be a sequel. but you can still remake it. people have remade bad and older movies into newer and better ones before. still, usually the first movie of the series is better than the remake
i think if there first movie sucked they wont want to make another with the same concept.
Didn't stop Fantastic 4 #2 from coming out. Twilight fan huh???
they made Aleins 4 after a dissmal 3 tanked at the BO.
Reviews have nothing to do with the success of a film. Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle (or Get the Munchies in the UK) had lackluster reviews, but because of the DVD sales, won itself a sequel. For Example: Since Twilight already has been making so much money with the soundtrack (which totally blows in my opinion) and pre-ticket sales, they're already greenlit the trilogy (no word on the 4th book yet). Doesn't matter if it gets crappy reviews, Hollywood is a big whore who just cares about the money. Reviews are pretty meaningless nowadays. Sure good ones encourage some people to see some movies, but it doesn't have a say in how successful a movie will be. People see some awful sh-t like Titanic or the Phantom Menace.
oh okay you hate twilight (*sigh of relief*) everyone says it sucks so I hope they don't make a second one because it's twilight's fault that harry potter will come out until next year :( (*tear tear*) :(
