Can anyone identify this upcoming movie?

Prior to watching <U>The Transformers</U> I saw a movie trailer for a film that looks to be a monster flick. The trailer starts with several friends at a party celebrating someone's going away. In the distance are the rumbling sounds of thunder and then a fiery explosion. There's a loud roar, similar to a lion's. Fire reigns down on the streets and the head of the Statue of Liberty is seen - having been seemingly decapitated and thrown several miles. The trailer is shot as though it's a home video - choppy and chaotic. I wasn't able to catch the URL or even the name of the film. It's due to be released in January 2008. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
